Deeep Tissue Massage

What is deep tissue massage?

Our deep tissue massage is a firm massage, we apply pressure that helps to relieve painful and stiff areas. We use slow massage movements to reach deeper layers of the muscles and relieve any built-up tension in the area. We use a range of movements utilising our arms, elbows and hands throughout this treatment to ensure the correct level of pressure is applied. As with all our massages however we will check to make sure you are always comfortable, please also feel free to let us know if at any point you would like more or less pressure applied.

It’s still a very relaxing massage, as with our other massages it will take place on one of our heated treatment beds, in our warm and tranquil rooms with candles and your choice of scented aromatherapy oils.

Who is deep tissue massage for?

Our bodies can carry a lot of tension, particularly for those who are stressed or physically active and this tension can build to cause stiffness, aches and pains. This treatment is perfect if you are currently or regularly suffering from aches and pains or muscle tightness. That being said anyone can have this treatment, provided you enjoy or can tolerate a deep pressure.

How long does a a deep tissue massage take?

We base our massages on the area of the body and how much time it typically takes to fully work on that area; for example a back, neck and shoulder massage would last 25 minutes as appose to a full body which would take 55 minutes although you don’t have to stick to these areas (they’re just easy names for booking purposes).

During a massage you can ask us to work on different areas – if you would prefer the 25 minutes to be use on the lower back and glutes for example just let your therapist know.

How much does a deep tissue massage cost?

This treatment ranges from £40 to £54

Can everyone have a deep tissue massage?

Yes, most people can have this treatment unless you have had recent surgery to the area or have any underlying medical condition which may affect the treatment – if this applies to you just let us know and we can advise if we would still be able to proceed.

If you are under the age of 16 years old, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and both be happy to sign a consent form too.

How long do the results from deep tissue massage last?

The affects of massage vary largely dependent on how much tension you are carrying when you visit and your lifestyle. For example, if you are visiting us to ease tension built up through sitting at a computer or like many if carrying small children and continue to carry out these activities in the same way, you may require more frequent massages. We will help identify where possible changes that could help daily.

For severe tension you may wish to visit weekly and for maintenance or relaxation purposes once or twice a month is usually the most popular.

What do you need to do after a deep tissue massage?

  • Drink lots of water after your treatments as we want to flush out any toxin’s we have realised throughout this treatment
  • We would recommend that you don’t have any caffeine directly after this treatment
  • We would recommend that you don’t have alcohol directly after this treatment
